I saw a Kingfisher in this area last year and have returned several times without success. Today after waiting about an hour, in warm, sunny breezy weather, I was rewarded with this beautiful juvenile female. She flew upriver to here, perched for a few seconds before flying back downriver into overhanging bushes and trees. She reappeared to perch on a fallen tree in the river for another few seconds before flying off upriver. We had had a lot of rain in the past 24 hours so the river was higher and flowing faster than for a while so probably not ideal conditions for her.
I took this using a Nikon mirrorless camera and Sigma 150-600mm lens.
