Short flight (composite of single bird): Water Rail, 20-09-2021, Richard Whitson, Cathkin Marsh SWT, Clyde
Although often heard at Cathkin Marsh, Water Rails are rarely seen so it was a special event to catch this one in flight over the pond. It had started to swim across the small pond and I had locked focus on it but I was surprised it only swam a short distance before it flew the remaining 10 metres to the other side. Quite unusual to be able to snap them in-flight.

I managed a burst of shots so there is a composite shot as a companion to this one.
